auto.spy analyzer: New name, new features

The software, which has proven itself as a powerful tool for diagnostics and process analysis in PLC-controlled systems for many years, now appears under the new product name auto.spy analyzer (formerly AutoSPY). The free viewer version has also been renamed accordingly and is now called auto.spy viewer.

The (new) advantages of auto.spy analyzer

With auto.spy analyzer, process data can be seamlessly recorded, analyzed and visualized - either as a graph or table. Thanks to individual trigger functions, extensive search and zoom options and the ability to create scripts via Visual Basic, the tool offers maximum flexibility for troubleshooting and process optimization. Data exports in CSV format are also possible.

• The update focuses on new drivers, extended system support and more flexibility for the user. From version 2025.1, for example, Windows 11 is officially supported, while Windows XP and Vista are no longer supported. The execution of auto.spy now requires Windows 7 or higher.
• Particularly noteworthy is the new cycle-accurate driver for SIMATIC S7-1200/1500, which works with TIA Portal V17 and TIA Openness. In addition, TIA Portal V20 is now also supported.
• ASTRACE documents can now be opened by drag & drop into the application window and be written and read much faster - the file size remains roughly the same. Important to know: Documents created with the new version are not backwards compatible.
• The search function has been improved and expanded.
