If you want to connect your IT with your OT, then there are various options. In order to be able to exchange data as efficiently as possible between your controllers and the PC, many rely on standard interfaces. These are a very good solution for many use cases. Currently, the most commonly used interface is probably OPC UA. Before that, the classic predecessor OPC DA was often used.

Communication library as an alternative to OPC UA

Depending on your initial situation, however, such a standard interface as OPC UA may not be the best solution. If the software that needs data from the controller does not offer such an interface, there are also alternative options.
