DELTA LOGIC Connectivity Service gives you the ability to set up and manage your own VPN. Just a few clicks and you can integrate the equipment relevant to you, e.g. PCs, routers and locally connected network devices (e.g. PLCs or HMIs). As a result, you can customize the VPN to your needs with minimal effort and maximize the efficiency of your remote maintenance.
Perfect fields of application
The DELTA LOGIC Connectivity Service is ideally suited to setting up and administering VPNs of almost any size and complexity - with the highest possible security. Every client must pass certificate-based authentication (X.509) before being allowed to establish the encrypted connection to the portal. These certificates can be automatically renewed at regular intervals.
Even within the VPN, you can increase security through access controls. Assigning subscriber units to different groups clearly defines which device can communicate with which remote station. The integrated firewall means it’s also possible to restrict this data traffic even more specifically (based on IP addresses, ports and protocols).
In addition, this VPN portal offers the possibility of internal monitoring. Here, the connection to the VPN clients or end devices is checked at regular intervals. In the event of a break in the connection, you can be notified directly via e-mail.

Which port in the firewall must be enabled for the DELTA LOGIC Connectivity Service?
When registering with the DELTA LOGIC Connectivity Service, you will be assigned a fixed UDP port. This port number can be found on DELTA LOGIC Connectivity Service‘s website under "My VPN".
Although I have enough free and available licenses, “no license” is displayed next to my device.
You must manually assign the license to the device by clicking on the pencil icon under the device properties and selecting an available license.
Via VPN, I am not able to connect to the TIA Portal with my Siemens HMI panel (KTP1500 Comfort, KTP600 Basic, ...). Why?
1. For HMI panels, only "Advanced Online Download" can be used in the TIA Portal, "Advanced Connect Online" is generally not possible.
2. It must be selected as interface "PG/PC Interface" TAP-Windows Adapter ... "
3. For some HMI panels (KTP600 Basic), the "PN/IE interface" cannot be used, in which case the "Ethernet interface" must be used.
4. For some HMI panels (for example, TP700 Comfort), the "Show all compatible nodes" option must not be active.

My OpenVPN connection is not going online. I get the error message “UDP link local: (not bound)” ... “Inactivity timeout (-ping-restart), restarting”.
Your firewall is blocking the connection. Make sure that the connection to the VPN server via the required port is not blocked.
My OpenVPN connection is not going online. I receive the error message “Certificate not yet valid”.
This means that the date of your device is set incorrectly. Your certificate is literally not yet valid because your device time is in the past. You can set the correct date and time via Administration/Time.
My OpenVPN connection is not going online. I get the error message “TLS Error: TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds (check your network connectivity)”.
Explanation: There is no response from the server to the client connection within 60 seconds (see timestamp of the marked entries). This results in a timeout. This can have several causes.
This is one of the most common cases. The most common cause is then point 3.
1. Incorrect destination address or destination port in the VPN client: Check whether the correct address of the VPN server and the correct port are set here.
2. No Internet connection: Check whether VPN servers or other services are pingable on the Internet.
3. Firewall blocks the connection establishment: Make sure that the connection establishment via the required port to the VPN server is not blocked.
When I start OpenVPN, I get a blue screen error.
This behavior is possibly caused by the TIA Portal from Siemens, which is also responsible for support in this case. DELTA LOGIC has no influence here. However, experience has shown that it can help to switch off the SIMATIC Industrial Ethernet ISO protocol on the OpenVPN network adapter.
