How to use UA NodeSets in the ACCON OPC UA Server
To use the UA NodeSets, you must perform the following steps in the Server Configurator of the ACCON OPC UA Server:
- Show advanced options: Activate the Show advanced options by ticking the corresponding checkbox.
- Choose NodeSet settings: Select NodeSet/Information model in the Server area of the menu tree on the left.
- Open folder of UA NodeSet files: Open the UA NodeSet folder using the corresponding button.
- Load NodeSet definition file: Select the desired NodeSet XML file.
All NodeSet definitions that you want to use in the ACCON OPC UA Server must be placed in this folder in order to be usable. If you want to use the supplied sample files, simply unzip them directly into this folder. - Validate definition: Check the chosen UA NodeSet by clicking on Validate.
- Save changes: If the check is successful, confirm the message with OK and then save your changes.
- Restart server: Restart the server service by selecting Restart service in the top menu Server. This will apply the changes to the UA server.
- Using virtual symbols within an UA Client: Now you can open your UA client application to use your NodeSets in the form of virtual symbols. In the video on virtual devices you will find more information on virtual variables and their use in the ACCON OPC UA Server.
